 ORIGINS TOGO LAKE TOBA

In ancient times in a village in North Sumatra there lived a farmer named Toba who was alone in a gently sloping and fertile valley. The farmer is working on his farm for his life.

In addition to working on his fields, sometimes the man goes fishing to the river not far from his home. Every time he fished, it was easy to get the fish he got because in the clear river it was a lot of fish. The fish he got ripe to eat.

One afternoon, after returning from the field, he went straight to the river to fish. But for a long time he lured none of them. Such an event, never experienced before. Because usually the fish in the river was easy for him fishing. Because it's been too long no one takes bait fishing, he gets upset and decided to stop fishing. But when he was about to pull his fishing rod, suddenly the fishing rod was struck by a fish that immediately pulled the fishing rod deep into the river. His heart that had been upset to turn into joy, Because he knows that the fish that grabbed the fishing rod is a big fish.

After a while he let the fishing rod drawn to and fro, then the fishing rod snatched it, and there was a big fish hanging and floundering at the end of his fishing line. Quickly the fish he pulled to the ground so as not to loose. With a cheerful smile his eyes pancing him out of the fish's mouth. By the time he was releasing the fishing pole, the fish looked at him meaningfully. Then, after the fish was put into a place he went into the river to bathe. Her feelings were excited because she had never had such a big fish. He smiled as he imagined how good it would be when the fish was roasted. When leaving the river to go home the day has begun to dusk.

Arriving at home, the man immediately brought the big fish that the fishing rod into the kitchen. When he wants to light a fire to roast the fish, it turns out the firewood in the kitchen of his house is up. He rushed out to pick up firewood from under his house. Then, carrying a few pieces of firewood he climbed back up the house and headed straight for the kitchen.

By the time the man arrived in the kitchen, he was shocked that the big fish was gone. But where the fish was laid looked spreading some gold coins. Surprised and surprised to experience the strange circumstances, he left the kitchen and entered the room.

When the man opened the door of the room, suddenly his blood was absorbed because inside the room stood a woman with long hair loose. The woman was combing her hair while standing facing the mirror that hung on the wall of the room. A moment later the woman suddenly turned around and looked at the erect man at the door of the room. The man became very fascinated because the face of the woman standing in front of him was amazingly beautiful. She had never seen such a beautiful woman even though she had wandered to various countries before.

Because it was late, she asked for the lights to be turned on. After the man turned on the lights, he invited the woman to accompany him to the kitchen because he wanted to cook rice for them. While waiting for rice cooked, told by the woman that he is the manifestation of the big fish that had gotten the man when fishing in the river. Then he explained also that some gold coins located in the kitchen is the embodiment of the scales. After a few weeks the woman declared willing to accept her proposal on the condition that he should swear that in his life he would never bring up the origins of his wife's incarnation from fish. After the man had sworn so, they married.

A year later, they were blessed with a boy whom they named Samosir. The child was spoiled by his mother, which resulted in the child being ill-mannered and lazy.

After a large enough, the boy was told to deliver rice every day to his father who worked in the fields. However, he often refused to do the task so that his mother was forced to deliver rice to the field.

One day, the boy told his mother again to deliver rice to the fields for his father. At first he refused. However, because she kept on being forced by her mother, she went with the rice. In the middle of the road, most of his rice and side dishes he eats. Arriving in the fields, the remaining rice is only a little he gave to his father. When he received it, the father was very hungry because his rice was delivered late. Therefore, the father becomes very angry when he sees the rice given to him is a remnant. His anger grew when his son confessed that he consumed most of his rice. The patience of the father disappears and he strikes his son saying: "Brash child. Do not know to be lucky. You're really a descendant of a fish! "

Crying, the boy ran home to meet his mother at home. To his mother he complained that he was beaten his father. All the slurred words his father had told him were told. Hearing the story of his son, the mother was very sad, especially because her husband had violated his oath with the words of disdain that he said to his son. The mother told her son to go up the hill not far from their house and climb the tallest wooden tree on the top of the hill. Without asking any more questions, the child immediately did his mother's orders. He ran to the hill and climbed it

When the mother saw her child almost to the top of the wooden tree she climbed on the hill, she ran to a river not so far from their house. When he arrived on the banks of the river the lightning came swooping with the thunderous sound of thunder. A moment later he jumped into the river and suddenly turned into a big fish. At the same time, the river was flooded and the rain was very heavy. Sometime later, the river's water was overflowing and flooded the valley where the river flowed. Pak Toba could not save himself, he was drowned by a puddle of water. Over time, the puddle was wider and turned into a very large lake which later called the Lake Toba. Medium Small island in the middle is named Samosir Island.
